Endless Possibilities For Faith
Some believe that one should not have any association with the world and that the only way to stay faithful to the Lord, to the faith, is to have nothing to do with the world, or anyone outside your faith group. I used to think that, but then I thought "what does that say about me?" Am I so weak, that I can't be around non-Pentecostals or watch any secular programming at all, listen to any music other than Gospel music? I realized if that was the case, well my faith wasn't so strong that I had to be afraid to have any association with anything outside my Pentecostal like minded group. If that was the case, that the only people I associated with ever were Pentecostal, how was I ever going to evangelize? If I didn't see any programming outside of Christian Bible study and preaching programming, listen to any music outside of Gospel, how will I know what I am dealing with when I evangelize to the public? Having said that, I still have to be discriminating in what I do watch and listen to within the secular world. I tend to lean towards British programming, including their comedies, and detective shows, even the Canadian detective show the Artful Detective. I love PBS specials that have old time singers from the 30's, 40's. 50's and even their shows on various cultures. I enjoy listening to some classical music and Buddy Holly's "Everyday", so I don't believe in cutting myself off completely from the world. That is because my faith is so strong that I can be selective and discerning, in all things I can ask God to use that to teach me something, show me something that I can then share with others.
Last night watching an old episode of Dr. Who the Master character, when the Time Lords go to destroy him for being diseased, he engages them in battle to save humanity and the Doctor and tells them, that they made him this thing. I thought it was an interesting point in the story and how it fits society at large. We have exposed our youth and expose them to so much violence, garbage, iniquity and such, but are then surprised when they turn out to be heartless, with no respect for life, for self, or others. We create the monsters, as Luciferian ideas, oppressions, and repressions because we are too ignorant to realize it, and thus call on the only source to overcome it, take hold, destroying our society and our youth.
In the New Year, I hope we can find a way to bring light to the darkness by being strong in our own faith, so we can step outside out own little bubble and share Christ with all, everyone, even those who are in Luciferian oppressed, repressed, influenced spheres. We must be able to go into the trenches, the war zones so to speak without getting trapped ourselves, and speak Biblical truth. We must ask the Holy Spirit for the courage and the words, as well as how to use our natural gifts, talents and skills to do so.
Happy New Year, Shalom and Amen.
