Prayer, Purpose.....

Sincere Prayer is Powerful

Sincere Prayer is Powerful

We have this society and tendency as human beings to want things instantaneously and our way.  We get a vision, an inkling of something that the Lord places in our hearts for the future, as regards our vocation, even the type of mate we are looking for, where we are to meet them, or we determine we have to have something a certain time, a certain way.  Suddenly we will hound God about it, and it has to happen when we say, how we say etc...., and if it doesn't then we get mad at God, or we assume he didn't hear us, didn't listen, ignored us, any number of things.  We may even conclude there is no God, especially if the outcome was the death of the person, when we asked for healing and the healing came in the form of death and total release from pain etc..., not total healing from the disease and pain.
We don't get to determine how and when our prayers are answered because we are not the creator of the universe and all things in it for one.  We are not privy to every fact and piece of information going in in the world, but God is, for he is omnipresent, so he may know things that we don't and that is why the prayer is not answered with a positive at that particular time.  That is not to say it may not be answered with a yes at a later time and in a different way, and that we may not have to lay a stronger foundation meantime.  If we demand it all be our way, when we say etc..., we might get a yes, but it might end up being a very costly lesson is "I told you so" of he knows better than we do when and how things should be done or we might get what we asked from, but it might not come from God, if the motive is one of sin and the price paid will be very high, including eternal damnation of the soul.
Something to think about.
Shalom and Amen
